She's one of the greatest names of the brazilian cinema, known to be the first latin american woman and only brazilian woman nominated to the best actress oscar. She was nominated for the film 'Central do Brasil" in 1999.

Viva Gal Costa, para sempre!
Bacurau (2019), directed by Kleber Mendonça Filho and Juliano Dornelles, provides entertainment and at the same time deep criticism, and fits so well to our current scenario that it is scary to think of the script as creation 10 years ago. Mendonça gave an important speech at the end of the exhibition in Cannes, "This is a very important moment in our country. And this is a film about resistance, about education and about being Brazilian in the world". Definately worth watching!
