Airport Airside Operations Staff are the people who work on the runway side of the airport where aircraft park, taxi and depart. This area is called airside and normal passengers cannot enter there. Their main duty is to make sure aircraft movement happens safely and on time. They stay in contact with pilots, ground handling team and airport control room to manage daily flight operations.

Daily Work Responsibilities

The work starts before the aircraft arrives. Staff check parking bay availability and guide the aircraft to correct position after landing. They monitor runway condition, watch for foreign objects and report any safety issue immediately.

Skills and Qualification Needed

For this role a candidate usually needs 12th pass or graduation. Aviation diploma can help but it is not always compulsory. More important is good communication, alert mind and quick decision ability. The staff must understand basic English and Hindi because they talk with different teams.

Physical fitness is also required as they stand and walk for long hours in outdoor weather. They must stay calm during pressure situations like flight delays or bad weather operations. Training is provided by airport authority after selection where they learn safety rules, aircraft marshalling and emergency handling.

Starting salary in India is generally between 18,000 to 28,000 per month depending on airport and company. With experience the pay increases and staff can become senior officer, duty manager or airside supervisor.
