Neto passa a viver situações degradantes no lugar e tem a relação familiar destruída.
O filme é um importante documento sobre os abusos em instituições psiquiátricas, sobre a questão das drogas e a forma como pais e filhos se relacionam.
O longa teve muitas críticas positivas, principalmente a atuação de Rodrigo Santoro e de Gero Camilo.
